Eng. 28 vs. Eng. 77

I'm a Mech E. major, and I just got waitlisted for Eng. 28. I'm most likely gonna take Eng. 77 this semester. I know there's a one unit difference in the classes -- how does that correspond to workload intensity? Is Eng. 77 really that much more time consuming and difficult than Eng. 28? Any help would be appreciated.

both have the same amount of work, although if you've programmed before, e77 will be much easier. both classes have lecture, lab, weekly lab and homework assignments that most people tend to do at home. i don't know who's teaching what next semester, but lieu and mcmains tend to only give a little more than 10% A's in e28, while e77 (w/ papadopolous and frenklach) is usually straight scale. e77 tests tend to be easy, but you're essentially coding with pencil and paper so it's really easy to mess up on syntax or something. don't pay attention to the unit thing for engineering classes. they never consistently reflect the amount of work the class will be. e28 might actually be more work, depending on what the project is and how your team approaches it. if it's really bad (like my experience, which i actually appreciate now), then you might end up with little sleep that last week before trials. ;)
