Hey, I'm an incoming freshman and wanted to get some advice on some R&C courses from either other freshman or current students.

I want to take English, Rhetoric, or Comp Lit because even though they're supposedly the hardest R&C's I can take, I think it would be a worthwhile experience. Except for those classes, I noticed that a lot of the professors aren't rated on ratemyprofessors, or pickaprof, so I'm a bit confused as to which prof to choose.

If you decide to take R&C from one of these departments, chances are you’re not taking them for an easy A, haha. Most R&C classes are taught by GSIs anyway, which is why it’s harder to find grade distributions. You may or may not have better luck on campusbuddy.
That said, if you can’t find grading info on the GSIs you want, just go to the department websites and read the course descriptions. They’re all themed and list the books you’ll read during the semester, so pick a class with a theme or books you’re generally interested in. There’s some pretty interesting stuff, usually. Last fall there was a Comp Lit R1B class with a film noir theme - I think there was only one actual book, with the rest film noir movies and one graphic novel.
And you probably don’t want to come in on the first day of class without having checked beforehand as to the theme and discover that you’ll be reading, say, Afro-Caribbean literature the entire semester if that’s not your cup of tea. So go ahead and check out the department websites.
