I have posted the same questions on the dartmouth fourum but yeah what are your views?

Dartmouth is a wonderful school you are in love with it and Im sure you will be happy with your decision to apply ED . (I saw this on your other posts.) You probably also know that Dartmouth believes very strongly in a strong liberal arts education and they do not relax those requirements for engineers. If you want your undergraduate degree in engineering to be ABET accredited, you have stay up to a year beyond receiving your AB from Dartmouth some students complete the extra requirements in less time. Heres an excerpt from Dartmouths website and Ive included a link from ASEE so you can do your own comparisons. At some other universities with strong engineering programs, you can do a combined undergraduate/graduate 5 year program in the same time frame as a 5-year undergraduate engineering degree at Dartmouth. ABET recognizes undergraduate courses at some universities as graduate level, which is why they allow for the 5 year combination bachelors/masters degrees. Thats the only downside that I see the upside is that your education will be well-rounded. If finances are an issue for you, you should also check with Dartmouth to see how much more it will cost you to attend for the extra term(s).

Complete the Bachelor of Engineering degree - Thayer School's ABET-accredited Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) program prepares you to enter the engineering profession, or graduate programs in engineering, through advanced coursework in engineering sciences and a significant experience in design. It requires up to a year beyond the A.B., but many students can plan their schedules to complete the A.B. and B.E. together in twelve or thirteen terms.

Thank You for your reply, Tahoe. I am almost 99% sure that I will be applying ED to Dartmouth. Well I think Dartmouth's Engg. Program is good enough for me. What I need is that the profs should be accessible. And students should be encouraged to think of new ideas and innovations. And I think Dartmouth is the place where this exists.

About the costs, I will be applying for aid. My parents can't afford College Education so I almost require a full tuition ride. I think I will be able to pay for that extra if Dartmouth plans not to fund me that extra year through Internships or loans. Lets hope for the best!

Cheers!

I'm sure you will love it there... here's another helpful link.

Now I have no reason to NOT to go to Dartmouth :D
