Engineer dorm

I think i may have asked a similar question before, but I am planning on dorming at Livingston but attending the school of engineer. How much more of a hassle would it take for me to get to class? I'm a freshmen. Should I allow about 45 minutes to get to class? Thank you guys and gals of CC

It won’t be much of a hassle since Livingston and Busch are very close to each other.

I’d allow 25-30 minutes to get to class at least. The reason being is the bus from Livingston to Busch becomes crowded during the daytime. The morning, not so much. But it gets a bit ridiculous around the early and late afternoon. In most cases, you’ll find your way onto the bus (standing, maybe, but you’ll get space).

actually it shouldnt take that long. if you get on at the quads stop and get off at hill (where most engineering classes are) it shouldnt take more than 10-15 minutes on your average day.

Just curious, what made you choose to live on Livingston rather than Busch? Most business students live on Livingston but I want to live on Busch lol

Well my original plan was to dorm on Busch, but my dormate is enrolled in Business School so it’s better for him to dorm at Livingston. So we decided to dorm there. Do business kids have classes at Busch too? or only livingston? Same question for engineers

freshman classes are typically all over the place because they have to fulfill requirements.

Like Lurker said, freshman classes are mostly all over the place for every major. So, as a business student freshman, I feel no major need to be on Livingston if I can avoid it. As I move on to being a junior and senior and more of my classes will be on Livingston, there is almost no living options on Livingston anyway. As for engineering, I see it much more practical for your friend to dorm with you on Busch…it’s more near the center of everything, besides college ave, and its dorms are alotttttt nicer

Walking/Biking from Livingston to Busch is also a good option; it takes less time than the bus sometimes and it’s nice on warmer days.
