I'm already in an honors society but recently I was asked to apply to the honors program at my school. Not sure if I should or not because the engineering curriculm is already pretty hard so my question is will it be worth it. Also I'm thinking about getting an MBA after I graduate and work for a couple of years.

Depends on the requirements and rewards. Generally speaking, putting “honors” on your degree doesn’t really do much for you, simply because the requirements can vary so much from school to school. If there are other benefits, then go for it!

At my alma mater, students in the honors program got preferential registration, access to special programs (like integrated masters programs), research opportunities and faculty access beyond what other students got - the cost was a minimum number of honors courses as well as the completion of a thesis. If you were admitted to the program at the time of enrollment, you also got a hefty scholarship, but this was not extended to those who joined later. For many, especially those aspiring to grad school, this is a worthwhile program.
