engineer major at va tech chances?

I was just wondering what anyone thought of my chances for getting into the mechanical engineering program at Virginia Tech. I go to Madison High School in Northern VA if that helps.

GPA: 3.9
SAT: 2050 (660 in math, 670 in reading, 720 in writing)

Varsity Tennis team all four years
National Junior Honor Society member (junior/senior year)
Work experience (salesman at an outdoor clothing store and administrative work at a local country club)

So far I havent taken any subject SATs yet but I think I will do pretty well in World History, US history and Spanish...

Im also wondering how hard the math 1 subject SAT is compared to the math sections on the regular SAT test...

You should be in with those stats

I agree with Marcus. Excellent GPA with a decent SAT will probably get you in. It seems that your ECs are either concentrated or a bit lacking, however. Just my two cents. Also, your scores are sort of not optimized for engineering! You might want a bit higher math scores on your SAT, and maybe take a math or science SAT II!

^ Yea that might be true for other schools but Virginia Tech doesn't look at SAT II's.

Virginia Tech is all numbers. They don't read teacher recommendations and don't look at EC's much so your most likely very safe for Engineering at VTech

I know a lot because VTech is my safe school and it's a very popular school in Northern Virginia
