<p>Are lectures required? I will be taking it this fall, but looks like I will have to skip Mondays lectures due to tight schedule. I know that there labs as well, but I hear lab sections are not mandatory. So are labs part of the lecture as well? Thank you.</p>
<p>When you say “tight” schedule, do you mean that something overlaps your lecture or that you’ll have to squeeze in a mid-day nap during the hour of lecture? </p>
<p>If it’s the former, you should change your schedule. Don’t risk that. If it’s the latter, you’ll find that skipping that mid-day nap isn’t too difficult if you absolutely have to be at lecture. That said, based on my experience with Berkeley engineering classes (I didn’t take E7 specifically), you probably won’t have to go to lecture. Lab Sections are most likely attended on a volunteer basis (again, based on my experience with other lower-div engineering classes) but you’ll have to sign up for one with your lecture anyway. </p>
<p>Also, you should definitely be able to attend the first week’s worth of lectures/labs. After that, no one cares.</p>
