Engineering 98

What is this course/seminar exactly about? It just says, "Surviving Berkeley Engineering". Has anyone taken this course and how was it?

I haven’t taken it, but I know people who’ve taken it and some of the people who run it. Basically it’s a laid back course lead by upper classmen engineers who teach about different aspects of engineering. From what I’ve heard, the main points are to give a brief peek at all the different types of engineering, learn about what it takes to become successful EC wise (learning about clubs, research, interns), learning about how the administration works (e.g. how to sign up for classes well, etc), and things of that sort.

I’ve heard its a pretty decent class (it’s a low time commitment, not any “real” homework), but I chose not to take it because I already know many older engineers. If you have older engineer friends, I’d recommend skipping as well (although you can sign up, attend for a few sessions and if you like it stay, don’t like it just drop it).
