Engineering acceptance easier? / Chances for that

I recently had my meeting with my college counselor. Historically, she has been pretty accurate on students' college chances. My current top 5 choices includes UVA as my 1st choice (she listed as a reach), Vanderbilt (target), Duke/Northwestern (reach), Purdue (safety), and Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan all at 5 (targets)....but that doesn't matter much.

My question is how much easier is it to get accepted to UVA when applying to the Engineering school rather than say the Business school? I have a 2070 SAT including a 750 on math, a 31 ACT including a 33 on math (might make 34 on M after taking it again), and will probably get around a 730-750 on the Physics and Math 2 SAT IIs. I am also top 10% of my class and am involved in sports, leadership, community service, and summer jobs. By the way, I am OOS

My brother was accepted to the engineering school with very similar stats...mine are a bit better :). Is my college counselor correct in saying that my chances of acceptance are raised a bit since I am applying to the E-school?

...Sorry for the repetetive questions, but I had to fit everything in here

The Commerce school is something you apply to after 2 years here. Engineering technically has the highest acceptance rate, but they also have higher stats than other schools. I'm not familiar with the SEAS numbers specifically, but for an OOS student I'd agree with your guidance counselor. It's worth a shot if it's really your first choice, though.
