Engineering Acceptances/Rejections

Anyone hear from BME/BE programs yet? I have heard from 2.

I was just accepted to CU Boulder for MSME yesterday. No money though.

Congrats!

yeah, i was accepted at BU and UT-Austin for PhD BME. I feel like engineering may be slower than the other departments... I've been waiting eagerly, hopefully hear more soon!

Thanks!

Just got accepted to the University of Minnesota for MSME today

Accepted to UMinnesota Chemical Engineering earlier today.

My friend from the same undergrad program as me was accepted to Berkeley PhD Chemical Engineering about a week ago. They will only take so many people from the same ugrad institution so I'm guessing I didn't get in - though I haven't heard anything official.

Edit for last post: I was accepted to UMinnesota-Twin Cities PhD for Chem Eng.

I'm in a completely unrelated field, but I was curious how early applications were due since you're already receiving decisions

Chem Eng PhD -
App deadline was around the end of the first week of January and some California schools started sending out admissions about the middle of January - very quick turnaround.

If people heard back from schools (such as UMinnesota for chemE), does that bode well for those who haven't yet heard from the same program?

I'm not sure what it means if some people have been accepted and others haven't. I would imagine they would send rejections out at the same time or even before acceptances...

I think some schools are just sending out acceptances/rejections as they go. Not hearing anything yet isn't necessarily a bad sign.

Accepted to UPenn PhD for Chem Eng.

Anyone hear back from any other schools for any kind of engineering?

So how does one engineer an acceptance? :)

Got rejected from Stanford Bioengineering program. :(

this is what they said:
The number of applicants for graduate study in Bioengineering vastly
exceeded the number of those whom we could admit. We received a large
number of applications from highly qualified individuals like yourself
and we are only able to accept and offer support to a limited number of
students each year.

Good luck everyone. Cheers.

Just got accepted at USC EE PhD yesterday. I talked with a potential advisor over the phone. Still waiting for the rest of the schools though.

Hi joemcm633,

I too apply to USC EE PhD program and have not heard back from them yet. You mind posting your personal status so I can gauge my acceptance rate?

much appreciated....

accepted to Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford on Jan 28.
have not heard any further news regarding fellowships/financial assistance...

Hi dcee_2008,

I don't think USC has sent out official notifications yet. I just got an email from a professor there. Here are my stats:

Electrical Engineering MS/PhD (Signal Processing & Communications)

UGPA: 3.97 for second two years
UGPA: 3.91 for first two years (Honors College)
V 630 Q 730 W 4.5

-Research Internships at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center & Boeing Phantom Works
-Undergrad Research in Signal Processing
-Teaching Assistant for Electronics

joemcm633,

Thanks for the info and congrats to your admission !

Hey congrats Ni-SDC. I applied to stanford for the same program but haven't heard back yet. Hopefully they're not done sending out acceptances.... Makes me wonder why schools can't just send out acceptances and rejections all at once.

I saw that you also applied to northwestern and Berkeley in one of your other posts. Have you heard back from them yet?
