Engineering Acceptances/Rejections

@electricalnerd: I haven't heard from any colleges yet besides Berkeley. I did not apply to Texas A&M. I was not on their first list of students to be admitted.

militarythreat, my brother also found out last friday that he is not in the list of admitted students at Berkeley. Where else have you applied to?

I know that I, as an ME, still haven't heard from Berkeley...

@electricalnerd: I applied to pretty much the same places as your brother. MIT, UCB, UIUC, U Michigan, and U Wisconsin Madison.

Does applying for MS with aid make a difference in the admitting order compared to no aid? My housemate who applied with no aid got the acceptance package from stanford a week ago but I am still waiting for mine

Hi,for Chemical engineering students who are going for PHD's, can you tell me the GPA one is supposed to get in order to be accepted to all the top universities listed in this thread?

Also the GRE score?

Any thoughts about how difficult it is to get the GPA's from either G.Tech or Rose Hulman.

Please help with your experiences.

Thanks

Anyone heard from Stanford for MS civil eng yet?? how about the financial package??

Chi62 -

No such thing. It's not about gpa or fee scores. Most of us have above a 3.9 and your expected to get a high quant score. It's more about research experience and related publications etc...

Got accepted to RPI Ph.D. yesterday in mechanical engineering with full tuition (TAship) and fellowship nomination...

Just got first acceptance on school website - Northwestern EECS PhD. Still waiting on UIUC...

Rejected from MIT. Looks like I better book my flight to new York .

I'm starting to stress out...

so many factors to take into account :(

Hey tx2000,
in previous post you said you are accepted to stanford's civil program right?? which civil is it?? did you apply with aid and if you do, did you get any?? thanks for the info!! I am anxious to know because I am STILL waiting on mine..

and what's stressing you out?? having a hard time making the final decision??

Hi moommoombaba, sorry I didn't respond to you on here. I'm lightyears on gradcafe. I answered your questions in the civil engineering thread.

Haha Thanks for the reply. I am just getting more and more anxious to hearing back from Stanford :/

Do you have an idea on where you would most likely go yet?

I like the Stanford program a lot better, but UTexas gave me such a nice funding package.. I'm leaning towards UT right now, but we'll see after I visit the schools. I still need to hear back from Berkeley too..

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has heard from Brown University Electrical Engineering PhD?

So far, my status is:

Accepted: CMU
Rejected: MIT
Waiting: Brown

Also, which of these two programs --- CMU and Brown --- do you think is best?

Thanks

moonmoonbaba, how do your stats compare to your roommates? I'm in the structural engineering program at stanford now. You should have received an acceptance letter stating that you are under consideration for funding at about the same time as when your roommate received her acceptance. You will then subsequently get a letter (after visitation weekend) detailing whether or not you will receive funding. I would call the department ASAP to sort things through. You should have received a decision by now given that the weekend is coming up.

Blah2009,

My GPA and GRE math scores are higher but my verbal and writing are lower. I believe she has very good letters though because she went on an abroad research program with a professor from our school. Thus, I think she has better letters AND better research experience than I do.

It's just weird that I haven't received anything at all, so i am almost certain that i am waitlisted. okay i will give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for the head up!!

Okay so I called the stanford's CEE department today. The lady told me that my application was complete and has been submitted to the admission committee for review. Duh?! And I will be hearing back from them in a week. Another week..?! So it is still being reviewed... Ah i didn't ask her if that meant i am waitlisted...
