Engineering at BU, Northeastern, Drexel or RIT?

Academically speaking, for an ENGINEERING major, which university is better: Boston University, Northeastern University, Rochester Institute of Technology, or Drexel UNiversity? Rate it from 1 to 10 please. Ten being top mark.

I know BU is ranked 7th in the nation for biomedical engineering.

My gut would rank them RIT, BU, Northeastern, Drexel bu you can look on a USNWR ranking of undergraduate engineering schools for that. But ratings should not be the decisive factor – you need to sort out what type of school do you want, where do you want to be, where can you be happy. For example RIT is more of a technical oriented school and is located upstate NY. Northeastern and Drexel have co-op programs if that is what you want. BU, Northeastern, and Drexel are all located in major northeastern cities if an urban location is important to you. I recommend you visit your final choices and go to the place where you feel you will thrive.

RIT also has a huge co-op program. They have been doing co-op for 100 yrs. we were very impressed when we went to visit.

These are very different schools for a number of reasons. You really need to visit, talk to students and professors, if at all possible do an overnight visit with host students, to really get an idea of the social climate, academic opportunities and fit at each.
