My son is considering engineering and has narrowed it down to these three schools. He is going for another look this week. Any insights on the three schools, particularly in engineering, would be most appreciated.

My brother is an engineer who is responsible for hiring at his firm and he has said that he is VERY impressed with the engineering students that come out of the University of Dayton. He has hired interns from UD and couldn’t speak highly enough of their knowledge and personal skills.

Miami is known for it’s strong business school, but their engineering isn’t quite as strong. I’m a UD student (though not currently engineering, I applied as a civil e and toured through the engineering labs) and I remember hearing that UD is the 3rd best school for engineering in Ohio. I would guess that the top two are some combination of OSU, UC and Case Western. OSU also has a strong program. I would really recommend Dayton or Ohio State for your S with the final choice coming down to fit. Of course, in the back of my mind I’m chanting, UD, UD, UD! Best of luck in your choice. And if either of you have any questions about UD I’d be happy to answer, as always.
