How are the engineering programs at Irvine? I know Irvine is good for premed, but is Irvine even a somewhat distinguished school in the field of engineering?

I thought Irvine is known for their engineering. Although I favor UCD, people normally picture UCI over UCD for engineering.

it isnt bad fo shizzle.i think its the same as the davis engineering department..rank wise? (edit: irvine is lower than davis slighty) top engineering schools in the UCs are ucb, ucsd, and ucla.

Not to be a UCI troll but that's not that big of a difference...

foshizzle.

As my dad says, undergraduate engineering can be done anywhere. Because your name is integratypeR, I would suggest you go to the university of civics and integras (haha, just a joke). To be honest, I'd pick ucd over uci because of other factors outside of the engineering department. I want to experience Kemper Hall (engineering building at Davis) anyway. I saw some engineering students sleeping on the couches in the lobby on admit day. That was awesome >=).

Pick the right school for you! I'm sure you'll be happy anywhere.

i dont get how sleeping on couches is awesome...some weird fetish for engineering students?

It shows that there is competition and hardworkers at Davis. I'm going into the engineering field and Davis is always looked at as "chill" in terms of competition. I really want to put up with some competition; it sounds fun. A lot of my asian friends look down on engineering because all of our parents have majored in it (all our parents are asian immigrants), and I want to let them know it's not easy!

lol, you probably saw me jas0n :P. But I'm not an engineering student I just work there.(I have taken a number of CS classes though.)

theres competitoin and hardworkers at allthe UCs! thats werid all my asian friends actually see engineering as one of the hardest majors. :)
