Engineering at Notre Dame

Im a girl and I am considering applying to notre dame next year. I was hoping to study electrical engineering there and I was wondering if applying with EE as an intended major would help me get in along with the fact that I am a girl. Thank you.

It might help you stand out more as ND is trying to attract more students to engineering.
D is an engineering major and females are definitely underrepresented.

Ok thank you. I had assumed that was the case.

D is an engineering major at Notre Dame. I don’t think being a female helps much, if at all, on getting into Notre Dame. But being a female interested in engineering will make you a very interesting applicant for many schools, including ND. You don’t apply to a specific college at Notre Dame … all incoming freshmen are enrolled in First Year Studies … but I would strongly suggest you weave your interest in engineering (or math and science) into your application.

^ definitely the case…don’t want to scare you away, but i have heard there are no female EE out of the 25-35 in the sophomore class…so you would be appealing to ND to balance it out…

Yes, definitely. Not only does Notre Dame want more women engineers, the engineering college is also looking to attract more Electrical Engineers. With the new nanotech center in Stinson Remick Hall, Notre Dame is starting to put a lot of emphasis on it’s Electrical Engineering Program, and in order for the department to grow, they need to bring in more students.

you’re in for sure or else they’re buggin
