how is it? I hear its 4th after LA in the UCs: UCB,UCSD,UCLA,UCSB.
is that true? and is it worth going to sb for engineering? is it better than davis and irvine??
any help is appreciated!!

yes for most cases
but if you are doing chemical engineering or material sciences and couldn’t get admittance into UC Berkeley, then come to UCSB because we are the 2nd best UC in chem E and MatSci.
In terms of other engineering, we are also top notch. the other 3 UCs you mentioned are amazing but getting research experience in those three is very hard to get. But in UCSB, its not that cut throat.

We are in the same level as UC Davis but better than UCI.

Thanks!!
so in the case of comp sci, ucsb is 4th in line?

Yea but the problem is Materials Engineering isn’t offered as a Bachelor, it’s only offered in the 5 year Masters Program. I really wanted to apply for a Bachelors in Mat.E but when I found out that, that wouldn’t work I decided to apply for Chemical Engineering. Maybe in the 2 years before I delve into my major they might start a bachelors in Mat.E? I can dream right =p

chance me for engineering?
