Engineering at UF

My DS was accepted at UF for Fall and indicated his intended major was Engineering (planning on Computer Engineering, not exactly what UF calls that as different schools use slightly different terms). I have seen a couple of posts about a different location for engineering (SF). I assume if he had gotten into that program it would have been obvious. Can someone explain the differences between engineering at the regular campus vs SF? THANKS! Still trying to compare a few schools.

It’s called Computer Engineering.

My daughter’s friend recently accepted a position with Microsoft, in Seattle, that pays over 100K a year. Crazy…

Anyway, after UF fills it’s class, it then takes about the top 240 or so “engineering” students that didn’t get accepted to UF and offers them the Gator Engineering at Santa fee program.

I should note that based on UF’s graduation surveys, the average starting salary for a CE major is about $72+K a year, but the top end can be much higher…

@Clover2018 The kids who are offered GE@SF did not request it. It was offered to a limited number. The engineering school chooses from a pool of kids who applied for traditional admission to UF but didn’t make the cut for Fall/Summer. My daughter plans on accepting as it looks like a great program for her.

THANKS!

@GatorDad305 I have a few friends from SF and they all love it!
