Anyone here can offer some insight? Looked at the course description and it looks good.

UM is known for its other programs more than its engineering, hence the query. Mainly wanted to find out about the Computer Engineering courses. Thanks.

Check my PM…I would recommend a visit with some pre-coordination for meeting with a professor who teaches the subject. Try contacting their administrative staff; my son was able to talk to a prof on a visit he took:
[University of Miami College of Engineering: ECE Faculty and Staff](http://www.ece.miami.edu/faculty/)

Again, UCF is another option to explore also.

I got your PM. UCF is another option - yes. Suggested it to son, esp if he can do their EXCEL or Honors program.

We cannot visit since we are living abroad. Does it make any sense to visit in Dec or just wait till the acceptances come in? But then Son has to decide on his list without visiting :(

Since Miami uses the common app and does not have an extra essay it is very easy to apply. Just apply and if accepted you can visit after that. My daughter chose to do it that way (visiting schools only after being accepted) because she did not want to visit schools and fall in love with them BEFORE being accepted.

If test scores are the only thing holding you back from EA, submit the app order them today. I think as long as the app is in Nov 1st, the app will still be considered EA even if a few documents straggle in soon after. The highest acceptance rates are during the EA round.

Did not make the Nov 1 deadline. Son has to be sure he would want to attend UM. This gives him more time to explore the online material on UM website.
