I am thinking of transferring to Wake Forest for my sophomore year and wanted to get opinions on they’re engineering programs. I am currently at a university of TN school studying civil engineering. I know WF isn’t ideal for engineering, but I like the aspects it offers outside of engineering (languages/dance). I have been accepted to WF and am still set to enroll for fall of 2016 at my current university. Money is also a factor for me. While Wake gave me scholarship, the cost/yr will still be around $24,000. I currently pay around $11,000.
Thanks!
No way I’d pay $40,000 extra for some dance classes.
I’m not totally clear about your situation. But I say stick with the more affordable UT option, which probably has a better reputation for engineering too.
Wake Forest doesn’t have an ABET accredited BS program. You’re only option would be a 3/2 program (3 years at Wake and then transfer for 2 more years at another institution, earn a BS/BA at Wake and a BS in Engineering at the other school), or a 4/2 plan (earn your BS in Physics and then enter an engineering graduate program for a MS in engineering).
We don’t know your situation, but most folks in this forum wouldn’t recommend a 3/2 plan. Mostly because of cost, and because most students finish their 3rd year and then decide to not transfer for the engineering degree. Search this forum for more info on a 3/2 plan.
Good Luck!
