Engineering: Cambridge vs. Cornell

Assuming you do well at Cambridge, you will actually have an edge when applying to graduate schools in the United States because US schools would love to take students from top foreign schools for many reasons (background diversity, etc.). So I would vote for Cambridge.

ak007,

I'm studying Creative Writing/Film at my current unniversity but I'm transfering next year to someplace else (i have to see where I get in first). I'd eventually like to do screenwriting or make documentaries. Cambridge has a great English program but not Creative Writing and I considered applying there for their English Lit degree but I decided that since it was way cheaper for me to stay in the states I might try to go there for grad school instead in English or maybe I'll apply as a visiting student and see if I can do a study abroad there in my junior year or something (im a freshman now). I have friends living in Cambridge and it is really nice. I've always thought it would be so much fun to go there but there were a lot of choices of schools in the US with my major. Let us know what school you decide to pick! Is cambridge 3 years for undergrad like other schools in Europe? If it is, that might be something else to consider. It will be 1 year less tuition since you arent taking core classes first!

It depends on what environment you enjoy too. Have you visited both campuses?

kaitylin,
Cambridge is effectively 3 years of undergraduate classes but, practically speaking (in engineering), students earn a Master of Engineering in 4 years, which is basically the same thing.
And the English course is 3 years.

AcceptedAlready,
I would also have iked to visit Cornell but I cannot for some reason or another. (But I have seen Cambridge, which is architecturally quite nice and I have heard from friends that Cornell has more of scenic, natural beauty. But that's all I know.)
