ECs: Bad. My school doesn't offer many clubs and I stopped sports after middle school. I have around 100 hours of volunteering at a nursing home, I'll have around 50 or so at a hospital, and 30-50 at a local shelter. I've also done other charity walks for various organizations, and I'll be in NHS for senior year.

Is this a good list? I want opinions on whether I should move stuff around or add/remove schools.

Thanks.

Anyone…?

I think you should move UMCP to a match! As well as UDel. If you were in NJ, I’d say you would be in at Rutgers without question so move it to a safety. But you’re not, so definitely keep that as a match. Move all the SUNYs to safeties! And just make sure you can explain your lack of EC’s.

I’d love to, but I’ve heard multiple people say that UMD Engineering is more competitive than the other schools, and that a 1340 M+CR is just average. (they don’t consider writing)

The same thing I said about UMD applies to Stony Brook. I think the Engineering and other STEM departments at Stony Brook are a lot more competitive than people think, making it just a match for me. And I feel my GPA/Class Rank/ECs are too sub-par to consider Binghamton a safety. But if other people agree with you, maybe I’ll switch them.

How/where would I go about doing that?

Bing doesn’t offer CE :p

And Bing’s BME isn’t top notch either, at least compared to other schools on your list.

Just wondering, what high school do you go to? I have a feeling that we might live really close to each other

I know, just like Northeastern doesn’t offer BME undergrad. I’m not really set on either so it’s not much of a problem if a school doesn’t have one. And I had Bing as a financial safety, in case I don’t get enough FA at any other school I apply to. But I also have Buffalo and Stony Brook, so maybe I’ll take it off my list.

I PM’d you, haha.
