<p>My daughter asked me to post to see if anyone had a recommendation for an engineering chem 960 prof: Kogut or Maleckar? Ratemyprofessor is mixed on both. Thanks.</p>
<p>I had Kogut for Chem and I really liked him, but many people don’t because he can sometimes be mean and often makes fun of students. If he likes you though, you’re golden. I think the nicest thing about his class is that he gives “learning outcomes” which detail everything you need to know for his tests which makes it easy to prepare. Also, office hours are key with Kogut. If he knows you and knows you tried hard, he’ll be more likely to boost your grade (I’ve seen people who should have gotten a C get a B- because they worked hard.)
Not sure about Maleckar, but I’d recommend Kogut!</p>
