<p>Yes, there are girls in engineering.</p>
<p>The trend is in descending order:</p>
<p>Civil
Chemical
Mechanical/Aerospace
Electrical/CS</p>
<p>I took an UD Civil/Environmental class, majority were girls. It was around 5 guys versus 10 girls. </p>
<p>Most of the UD ChemE classes are around 60% guys/40% females.</p>
<p>It's odd. Some of the guys look feminized in the civil classes while some of the girls look masculine in electrical classes. </p>

<p>during my orientation, when we went to the department counselor thing with our major we had 2 girls and like 6 guys? civil engineering, maybe it was just because there is not a lot of girl engineers during my orientation? compare to the 1:2 theory(or 5:10 as the poster above prefers)</p>
