Engineering Choices

Looking for a good match:

Schools: RPI, WPI, Rowan, Lafayette, Drexel, Colorado School of Mines, possibly NYU Poly, Bucknell or San Diego, open to other options

Senior in high school
all advanced classes, weighted GPA 4.1, top 10% in class (but just at the edge)
SAT Math 680
SAT Verbal 610
SAT writing 600
AP Chemistry (Jr year - 4 in AP exam) , AP Calculus and AP Physics this year
Robotics team, Math Competition team, German Honor Society, NHS, Varsity kicker in football last 2 yrs, track team, literary magazine editor/poetry, acting in school play 4 yrs.

Love Physics, looking at Civil/Environmental Engineering, tend to like a smaller school with cooperative efforts

Any suggestions? Leaning toward WPI and Rowan, but very open to other matches out there.

Help is appreciated. Thanks.

bump.

Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Drexel would most likely be good. i dont know too much about the others. have you looked into stevens institute of tech at all?

Yes, thank you, but Stevens didn’t feel right. The best fits so far (in order) are WPI, RPI and Rowan (but will visit Drexel and Lafayette soon).

Thoughts on WPI, RPI and Rowan?

Thanks!

Most of the schools you listed excel in Engineering. I suggest you visit each, and do your own research on them. RPI and Bucknell are probably the most difficult to get into on your list. RPI and WPI are more techie and about 70% male. Bucknell, Lafayette, and Rowan are more liberal arts, but have great engineering programs. Good luck!
