Engineering Club

Hey guys!

Our 2-year old engineering club does a lot - various engineering competitions in which we do pretty well (regional winner, national finalists to give you an idea), field trips to Samsung, Nuclear research facility, etc..., volunteering at UT Austin events, and more! And we have almost 60 people in our club e-mailing list but only about 10-15 show up to general meeting (although more than 30 put together do the competitions). Our mtgs are 1-2 times a month and guest speakers and other events are also 1-2 times a month.

We want to attract more regularly-attending people.
Do you guys have any ideas of school-wide publicity events that we can hold to attract more people? There are definitely a lot interested in STEM careers at our school.

I know that many people in my school want to join clubs but they’re scared to act. Ask to have a assembly to promote engineering. When I was in middle school, my school would bring engineering companies and gives us fun activities to work with. In Maryland (where I live) Johns Hopkins have this engineering program for students to give them an introduction and do really cool experiments and it’s taught be college professors. Really jazz it up. I wish I could give you more information, but I can’t. I hope this helped a little bit.

Yes! It did really help! Thank you.
