engineering/college decision problem

I'm interested in engineering and economics.

Would you suggest majoring in engineering and applying into the Engineering school? Is there any way I can minor in Econ, or perhaps even get a BS in it?
Is there a 3-2 program where I can do both?

I really like Columbia after visiting it and hearing about all of its programs, but I didn't realize that you have to apply to the schools seperately and it that its really hard to switch between them.

you can do engineering and minor in economics

Columbia has something called a "concentration", too - sort of a light-duty minor. Prospective employers would probably not see much difference unless they were very familiar with the Columbia system.

actually, a concentration is bigger/heavier than a minor but less than a major. That's what a columbia rep said from what i remember
