Engineering course load

Wanted to hear from current U Mich engineering students. When reading reviews online, the students discuss how difficult the course work is and how difficult the math classes are almost to the point of intimidation. Trying to decide on Maryland or Michigan. I know they both have great programs,I know that Michigan is the higher ranked program, I am a decent student but I want to have some fun and a lot of success in going through a tough program. Having a little trouble coming to this decision.Anybody out there to help?

Honestly, it’s not THAT bad. If you got in and are willing to put a good effort into it then you will do fine and still have plenty of free time.

it’s not bad, and honestly if you don’t like it after your first year, it’s really easy to transfer to LSA, but it’s really hard to transfer into the engineering program. it’s a great program, and don’t worry about the math classes, yes they are very hard, but they are also curved like no other. The average on my last calc 2 exam was a 45, which turned out to be a B, so don’t worry about it
