I was wondering if it would be suitable to take engineering as a bachelor and then take MCAT to go into Med school. I like the idea of taking biomed engineering as an undergrad but there just aren't many suitable jobs out there with BME degree (in case i don't get into a med school).
I was also wondering if it would be better to get a degree in another branch of engineering( comp sci) and another degree in biochem/molecular biology for premed or is having two degrees just something that won't help in the future?
How have people who have done such a path fared in front of the med school applications?

BME and other engineering branches are fine, but be warned that they are a difficult group of majors to get a high GPA in, and it is very time consuming to do so. Neither are good qualities in a pre-med major.

Unless you want a fifth or even sixth year, I don’t suggest that you double major with engineering. I was under the impression that BME DID have quite a few job opportunities.

Well I was thinking more under that other Engineering programs like computer engineering usually get more income than people from BME. There are obviously a large number of jobs but the entry level jobs in BME just simply don’t pay much. I was just looking at this like a fallback plan if I don’t get into med school.

The other scenario where I simply do a Pre-Med program and then I don’t get into Med school. This would be a nightmare as I am pretty sure that wouldn’t get many jobs at all.
