engineering + econ minor?

who knows somewhere down the road i might be interested in getting an MBA or in managing my own business/finance, so i was thinking of doing an econ minor. What you do guys think? Is there a use in getting a minor in econ?

Definitely. You’ll get a solid grounding in econ if you minor in it. You will take intro and intermediate micro and macro and three electives. You can definitely learn some great stuff while showing an interest in business to employers. I know many people minoring in econ.

sweet. I was contemplating whether I should get a math minor, but that’s just plainly stupid when I can pursue an econ minor which I think I’ll enjoy.
if i take 101,102, then a bunch of 300 levels, those will count as both SS credits and toward the econ minor right? Killing two birds with one stone?

Being an engineer, I think you’ll only be 3 math classes away from a math minor. An econ minor certainly adds more value to your engin degree though – no employer will doubt your quantitative skills coming out of the CoE.

You’ll need at least 1 400-level elective (out of 3 total). FYI the 400-level electives are better, more interesting, and more useful.

Not sure.

yah im probably gona take 401 and 402 too…

401 and 402 are not electives, they are required. You have to take one course with either 401 or 402 as a prereq.

oh okay, still a long way to go.
thanks though.
