So I am a junior studying Mechanical in a MA school and thinking about applying for internships this summer. I have resume and cover letter and everything else ready, but the problem is I don't know where to apply except for few big name local companies. So far, I have GE, Pratt and Whitney; and UTC on my list. I wanna intern in the New England area preferably MA, but I don't know where else can I apply. Can anyone please suggest me some Engineering companies/firms I can apply to preferably in Massachusetts. I would really appreciate the help.

p.s.- It doesn't matter if it's big or small companies as long as they hire Engineering interns.

Does your school have a career fair? Does your school have a co-op program? Try and figure out companies that target your school and contact them. Even if you don’t want to co-op you could try and figure out which companies come and see if you could intern for a summer. Other than that just search google for some companies that look interesting and see if they would be interested in hiring an intern.

Agree with CivilEngr … utilize the school’s career center or co-op office first, as the folks there have a network of companies. Now is definitely the right time to get going, as most companies will make their summer intern hiring decision in the very near future. And if you are in classes, also talk to your engineering professors, who may have leads or direct connections.

Thanks guys for the replies. Well, I talked to career ctr and they asked me what part of ME am I most interested in? I’m definitely not interested in design, and I was thinking about something with mechanics. What are careers r there for Mechanical engineers besides Manufacturing and design (those are the only two I know off)
