Engineering gangsta hustlers

hmmmmm im really wondering if i want to continue majoring in engineering, i finished my bachelors in ECE and now am 1st semester in grad school going for MBA and MSECE,,, Im wondering if i should become a chiropractor,,, im missing only 2 classes which i could take next semester, i took alot of premed stuff early on,,, I just wonder if ill be stuck working 55-60 hours a week for the rest of my life,,, or i could become a chiropractor work 37-40 and make more, of course my debt load would be huge,,,anyways im not sure if i want to deal with the long hours and such what are your opinions

chiropractor? come on at least become a real doctor

real doctor you know that funny coming from you,,,,,,,,,,,, im not interested in the money for a career or the prestige,,,, im interested in good working hours something i enjoy, and able to work anywhere i want instead of huge city,,,,,,,,somehow i think i researched this more than you,,,,by brothers not a real doctor hes a dentist--works 38 hours a week and has half of friday off,,right out of school hes making 115000 at a practice, once you break down careers by hours and i mean overtime and all that, he makes it into the top 3 salaries in the country,,,,,,surgeons make 300k but they work 65 hours a week and you have too take that into account

Money isn't everything, tdelf.

Dentists are also widely regarded as one of the unhappiest professional groups in America, with very high suicide and drug abuse rates. What's so great about $115,000 K a year if you're miserable as you make it?

I'd rather work another 20 hours a week and be happier. Oh, I'd rather just choose a job that fulfills me as a human being, and not worry about the pay at all. I don't think most CCers, being as young as they are, realize how comfortably you can live on a sub-6 figure salary.

No there not you claude,,,,,,when they say stuff like this they aren't telling you the whole truth, ,the statistics are slanted,,,,,,,if theres 10 million auto mechanics and 100 commit suicide thats not a very high rate,,, but if theres 400000 dentists and 10 commit suicide,, all of sudden the stats look like theres bigger problems going on,,, get your head out of your ass and wake up

hmmmm...judging from your churlish responses, you have a chip on your shoulder about the size of a dinner plate.....maybe you ought to steer clear of ANY medical career that requires the least bit of a decent bed/chairside manner.

tdelf,
please read my response to you on the thread "engineering or another career"...I want to add, though, that the medical field has enough unhappy and dissatisfied practitioners, so please don't go into ANY medical field for the money.

Don't feed the troll, y'all.

dentists are real doctors though. they practice real things. that's why they're covered by insurance. chiropractors aren't. i think this thread is a bunch of bs anyways.

There's something ironic about calling people retarded and misspelling "you're".

probably a high school kid

my dad was a chiropractor, and a good one too. but money was bad especially since insurance companies would not pay him. so now he is a Teaching Fellow (where doctors can become teachers, and take college classes for very low cost for certification)
