Hi all,
So i’ve been waitlisted for mechanical engineering grad school at UM… my fav school. I already have an offer from the school im doing my undergrad from and i also have a TAship but I don’t want to sign the contract just yet. UM will make all decisions by april 15 and I think i can wait until then. but even if i get into it, funding is a problem becuase it’s prolly gonna be 40k which I can’t afford. I am contacting this one professor and idk what my chances are of getting a funding at this point… thoughts anyone?
and i don’t want to go to any other schools cz no other school interests me like UM. if i can’t make it into UM i’ll just stay where i am at even if it’s not a top college.
i am also going to email the admissions committee even though i didn’t know that I was supposed to show interest after getting the emial so i just sent them thanks for letting me know…i know i should’ve researched more. i just didn’t completely believe that i was so close.
anyway please bear in mind that I am an international student so it’s not like i can wait a year then apply again and this time try harder because that idea had crossed my mind.
Thanks
