Engineering Graduate School

Is it possible to get into a good engineering graduate school with a B.A degree in computer science instead of a B.S? do you have to have an engineering undergraduate degree? I will probably get into software engineering for graduate school, if that helps.

I don’t know about the B.A. vs B.S. stuff, but you can definitely get into engineering grad school without an undergrad engineering degree. I am about to graduate with a math/econ double major and I was accepted to several engineering masters programs. Considering how close CS is to software engineering I think you should be able to make the switch.

I was also concerned about getting into a graduate engineering school with a non engineering bachelors degree. Thanks for the reply!

Hmm well Euler, you have a major similar to engineering so maybe that’s why you were able to be accepted.

Do you think Chem or Bio majors can also be accepted?

That is also something i have also wanted to know

A counselor or advisor at your HS or college should be able to help guide you in this.

I know a person who got into PHD.EECS at MIT with a Symbolic System degree from Stanford, a Math major got into Operation Research(Industrial Engineering) at Berkeley so if you are good… you can get in no matter what degree you have!
