Is is possible to receive a decision about engineering honors before receiving an acceptance decision from TAMU? Student is an automatic admit for TAMU based on class rank, GPA & ACT scores.
I don’t know the answer about engineering honors, but (typically) you’d have to be admitted to a university before receiving departmental honors. Someone else, with more experience with A&M will have to weigh in, in the event that TAMU is anomalous in that regard.
I do want to point out (for any one reading, and who may be uncertain about the assured admission standards):
– Automatic admission is based on rank (only); Top 10%
– Academic Admit (another form of assured admission) is based on class rank and SAT/ACT score (only); Top 25% + SAT/ACT & subscore minimums
GPA isn’t considered as a qualifier for assured admission paths. However, for review admits, TAMU lists GPA as “very important”.
