there is no engineering honors program, however if you are a really good student at umich engineering (3.7 gpa by the end of your sophomore year), you can do the Global Leadership Honors program. I have to warn you though, that a 3.7 gpa will be pretty hard to accomplish. If you get into this thing, u are set. I believe their average starting salary is about 75-80k.

would you consider a 3.3 at u mich (mech engineering) easy to attain by end of sophmore? What is the average GPA of mech engineering student by end of their sophmore year?

It depends on what classes you take, your work ethic, and how well/fast you can learn the material. 3.3 is very attainable, but you have to earn it. I'm guessing that the average GPA or engineering is probably around 3.0.

IMO if you had ample high school preparation in the sciences (especially physics, since ur ME) you will do fine.

How would you rank the Univ. of Michigan School of Engineering vs. the engineering schools at Cornell, U Texas, Vanderbilt, UCLA and Northwestern?
More specifically, between Michigan's Engineering School and Northwestern's?
