Can people study engineering in Columbia college instead of Fu Foundation? I like engineering but I also want to take the core in Columbia college. Is it possible?

no, except for the discipline of computer science, which has more lax requirements in the college. well actually, i think you can take some engineering courses, but if you mean actually majoring in engineering, not really possible, unless you do like an econ-or joint major.

that being said you do take the core while attending seas, but it excludes notorious requirements such as frontiers of science, and replaces it with quantitative notorious requirements such as gateway.

disclaimer: i am neither a columbia student, nor an alumnus. i am a 2008 ED applicant to SEAS that procrastinated on some god forsaken essay due today.

Thank you for answering my question.

You can take as much of the Core that you want as electives in SEAS.

the two responses above are correct.

the CC core is almost literally cut in half in SEAS and gateway, econ and comp sci are added on

You can also do the 3-2 or the 4-1 programs that get you both a BA from CC and a BS from SEAS: that way you'll be doiing both the core and engineering.

how easy is it to transfer...I mean if you apply to both the college and Fu Foundation, but choose one of them, would it be easy to after, say, a year or 2 transfer to the other college?
