I am currently a chemE at Berkeley. Eventually I want to go into financial consulting( or even I-banking ). What kind of internship should I choose then? I feel that if I choose an engineering internship and end up working for an eng. firm, I could still go into management or consulting. However, if I get a business internship, working at a financial firm upon graduation, I fear that I will never get a chance to go back to engineering, should I not like the business arena. Any advice please?

What year are you? Why can’t you do a business internship one summer and an engineering the next? or vice-versa. If you want to see what field you like, this is as good of a time as any to experiment. Why wait until graduation?

I only have 1 summer …
