Engineering Liberal Arts Distribution

Hi, I understand that Cornell Engineering requires 6 units of Liberal Arts Distribution and 2 FWS. I have a 5 on AP Lit. So I'm just wondering besides exempting me from one FWS, could it count as one of the 6 Liberal Arts courses as well?

Also, I'm interested in taking the course "ENGL 2270 Shakespeare and/as Theory" as one of the six units. Is it difficult for a freshman engineering major to gain entry into the course?

Thank you very much!

It should not be that difficult to get into the course. I don’t think your AP credit goes toward your LA distribution, though, as you said, it gets you out of a semester of FWS.

I’m pretty sure it will get you out of one liberal arts distribution course. You can either choose to use it to be exempt from an FWS OR a liberal arts dist.
