Read in the Courses of Study that for Engineering, students are required to take 6 courses beyond the 2 frosh writing seminars. It also makes mentions of "upper-level" liberal studies requirements. My question is, what are those? And how many AP/IB credits can I use to fulfill this 6 course requirement?

dont know the answer to your question, im also waiting, but my question to you is is that courses of study book the 2004-2005 addition or is it the 05-06 edition as i really want to look at the 05-06 if iits even out> if so, how and where did you get it?

The college of engineering has a pretty restrictive liberal arts requirement. Basically as long as your AP/IB credit falls in the different catergories required you can get credit for all of them. In all practical terms in the best case scenario you'll get credit for four of the classes. This is due to the need to have 2 "upper level" liberal arts classes which means at the 200 level or greater. Of the top of my head I can't think of any exams that will get you credit for a class at the 200 level or higher except chemistry and physics which are not liberal art classes.

As for courses the 05-06 catalouge is not out yet and will be online before in print. I'd recommend looking at the one online not in print. They both have errors in them but the online one has less. Here's a link...

There are 6 categories for engineering liberal distribution. Your 6 courses have to be split between them (i think it's 3 classes in categories 1-3 and 3 in categories 4-6) and 2 of the classes have to be at 200 or higher level, as was stated.

I got AP and IB credit for a few things (history, english, etc) but I have not yet really been able to find out how this credit works. I am listed as having credit, but no one has been able to tell me exactly what classes these count for.
