ndude, that sounds correct.

babylunabi, the email from UCLA doesn’t have a disclaimer saying that the email does not indicate admission. It doesn’t have any similar sentence.

Did not get letter :(. Applied to Comp Sci major. No regents letter either.
SAT: 2300
SAT II: Math Level II-800, Bio-780
UW GPA: 4.0

I’m really bumming right now. I did get the Jacobs letter from UCSD, but UCLA is my first choice.

^ That’s unfortunate. ): Mind if I ask about your weighted GPA or UC GPA?

I didn’t get the UCLA letter, but I got the UCSD one. I also got the SD medical scholars letter, UCI honors program, but no regents anywhere.

Major: Biomedical Engineer
WGPA: 4.3
10-12 WGPA: 4.42
UWGPA: 3.85
ACT: 35

Hopefully I still have a shot at UCLA.

@mytuesdaysmile - UWGPA 4.0, WGPA is about 4.2 (not exactly sure of calculations)

I did not take AP Physics - and I’m starting to think that might be the deciding factor. :(.

Congrats to all who received the letter. I’m sure you’re admitted because it would be cruel to send out a letter like that only to get rejected.

My son got UCLA Engineering “likely” email and has been receiving the UCSD Jacobs School emails. SAT-2250-750 Math, 760 Reading, 740 Writing. SAT II-800 Math Level 2, 800 Chemistry, 790 History. UGPA-3.98, WGPA-4.66. Engineering admissions is separate from regular admissions based on a meeting with a UCLA Engineering admissions counselor. He also said that the Math SAT I & II scores along with the science (Chem or Physics) SAT II scores are REALLY important. Based on prior years’ threads I think the letter means acceptance to UCLA!

I sent the UCs my January sat subject test scores, which apparently they do not consider. Yet I still got UCLA’s letter. So unless UCLA is just trolling all of us, I’m inclined to believe that subject tests aren’t ALL THAT important.

Ascaris, starting the 2012 admissions cycle (i.e. including us), it is now University of California’s policy to disregard the importance of Subject Test scores in admissions decisions. However, some departments at some universities do recommend taking SAT Subject Tests. The source is: [University of California - Admission policy change for 2012](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/counselors/q-and-a/policy-change/index.html)

Engineering definitely recommends a math and science test, and does not consider jan tests. I just sent them hoping they’d take a cursory glance at least.

Ascaris, I’ve heard from a few friends that while UCs don’t officially accept January subject tests, they do look over them.

Really? That’s good then.

Wow I feel lucky! I got the letter last night as well and my SAT score is a 2000 rather than upper 2200’s like everyone else seems to be posting!i

Hello XXX,

The open house invitation goes to a selected group of highly accomplished applicants but it does not guarantee acceptance.

Let me know if you have more questions.

This is according to
Wei-Li Sun

Wow. I was hoping she said the exact opposite. What do you guys think. Does it still guarantee acceptance???

I got the email very happy. GPA:4.4ish weighted, 4.0 unweighted SAT:2300 Subjects: math=800, physics=790. i have also been getting UCSD jacobs emails. no regents for ucla, but did get regents interview for berkeley.

Does anyone know how long after likely letters were sent out decisions came out in previous years?

Got a likely :)

SAT 2200, SAT II M790, C800, P800
GPA 3.96 UW
International student

Did any of you reply to the email?

I got the letter too, for civil engineering. I live in NorCal. 2280 SAT, 780 chem, 760 us, 740 math 2, 4.16 uc gpa. UCLA is one of my top three choices so I am extremely excited to get the letter.

I didn’t get a ‘likely’ letter… could it be that they’re still sending them out? Or do they all get sent out at once? Has anyone seen a pattern in the previous years and can give me an answer?

i didn’t get one yet
Bio engineering
4.25 weighted GPA
34 ACT
really good ECs, community service, and recs…still waiting for it though! what do you guys think?

edit:
oh and i am getting the UCSD engineering stuff

hello all

i am a first year at UCLA and I got this message last year. All of my friends who received this e-mail last year were accepted into UCLA. The year before me, my friends who received the message were also accepted. Although it is not 100%, you are most likely to have been accepted.

@rockerbsbn: UCSD is terrible with dealing with applicants. Last year, they sent out a lot of invitations to check out the UCSD engineering program…and were still rejected. the worst part is that even after receiving a rejection, UCSD continued to send these invitations :/
