Omg I Just Got One!! Yey!!!!!!!

=D congrats!
I just got one today too for engineering college.

where u guys live?

Hmm... I wonder how far they got in the first day. I live in southwest Connecticut and haven't seen anything yet. I'll wait another day before I get worried, though.

wait...what do you mean by likely letter?

i just opened mine, too!!

Congrats guys. Nothing here :(

I got one for the natural sciences.

Man was I surprised.

could you guys please post your stats.

I just got one for engineering too!!! I really can't believe it, I didn't think
I'd get one.

are u guys urms? some schools give out likely letters only to their urm acceptences so everyone else shouldn't get worried quite yet.

i could be wrong. in that case, start worrying!

DD got one today. I know it's not PC, but how many of you that received letters are female? Seems that top engineering schools are trying to bring up their female enrollment.

I just got mine too.. =)

I'm a URM, but I think my essays got me the likely letter.

Slightly an off question. Does Cornell give admission to Engg in general or to the exact speciality like ECE?

I got an unlikely letter.

Just kidding. Do colleges ever send them out?

I think those are called rejection letters.

whoa. for real? this many engineering "likely letters"?
Ya'll make me jealous...

OhMother:

If you look at the admitted/applied students breakdown by gender, you will see that Cornell admits about 50% of their female engineering applicants. Yet, engineering is still about 70% male. Whether this means that the females who apply to engineering are just superduper or that Cornell is more lenient toward females is up to debate.

I got likely letter today, and while I'd like to think it was purely because of merit, I realize that my gender probably had something to do with it.

Anyway, stats:

-took linear algebra at community college
