Engineering major and essay discrepancy

<p>I want to apply as an engineering major, which is a field I'm somewhat interested in. However, my essay indicates interests in writing and scientific research. My extracurriculars support these interests. </p>

<p>However, I'm currently undecided, and I've heard that it's difficult to transfer into engineering.</p>

<p>Is applying as an engineering major a problem, given the interests reflected in my essay?</p>

<p>I don’t really think there’s too much of a discrepancy. It’s not unusual for engineering majors to do research.</p>
