I’d like some advice on how to narrow down a specific engineering discipline. I’ve been accepted to a couple great engineering schools but am unsure of the engineering I’d like to pursue. For some background, I enjoy math a lot, especially calculus. For an engineering related extracurricular, I have been participating in robotics for four years now and enjoy it a lot. However mechanical, computer, biomedical, and aerospace engineering all interest me, which is making it difficult to decide which of the four would be ideal for my major. I intend to pursue a graduate degree which has encouraged me to pursue mechanical engineering as an undergrad and do a further specialization in a specific engineering discipline that interests me later on. I’d just like some thoughts about the pros and cons of each of the specific engineering disciplines and how some of you decided on these majors?
At most schools, you either don’t need to decide right way or can easily transfer without loosing credits. So check the policy at your top choice - there may be no need to fret right now.
