Engineering major scheduling

Is technical writing an engineering degree requirement or just an elective an engineering major could choose to satisfy an english gen ed requirement if he needed to? Also, how about that biology for engineers class to satisfy a gen ed biology requirement? Would someone with no real interest in biology be better off with one of the more "fun" gen ed biology classes? Thanks.

Tech writing (ENC2210) or professional writing in eng (ENC3254) is required.

Chemistry 1 w/ Lab (CHM2045 and 45L) is required for all engineering majors and some require CHM2046 with lab (e.g biological, and chemical)

Biological credit I think is open to any biological class except if you are a biological eng major.

I took the bio for engineers class to replace chem2046 for EE and hated it. You're better off taking wildlife issues or man's food.

does the tech writing class require a lot of time and effort?

No, its an easy class.

-resume
-memo
-website or it can be written
-manual (in a group)

For the most part, tech writing is really easy. However, there is a tiny minority of instructors that are really strict about having everything perfect. The vast majority of instructors for tech/prof. writing are pretty cool (since they are English grad students).

sounds good...thanks for the feedback

how hard is tech writing compared to enc1101? how time consuming is it as well?

Much less time consuming. Almost all of the work is done during your class meetings. I almost never had any hw, except for a little stuff I had to do on the team final project.
