<p>I will be completing my first year of college @ Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) after this Fall 2011 (Wintermester). 3.56 GPA with 41 Credit hours. </p>
<p>I will be attending DCCCD again for Spring and Fall 2012, and hopefully transfers to TAMU for Spring 2013 to major in Petroleum Engineering. When should I apply for TAMU? I don't want my "hard work" to go to waste because the department is filled up.</p>
<p>Sorry if I quote hard work, I just didn't want to look foolish because I didn't know if 3.5 might seem like a joke trying to get in Dwight Look College in Engineering. It was done with a full-time job, attended Spring, Summer I & II, Fall, & Wintermester, 3 kids and me just turning 24 in Nov.</p>
<p>Also anyone know about Transfer Articulation Program (TAP)? My community college (Richland) is part of this <a href="http://admissions.tamu.edu/forms/degree_plans/engineering.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://admissions.tamu.edu/forms/degree_plans/engineering.pdf</a></p>
<p>After Spring 2012, I'll only need Phys 219 and Math 152 (BOLDED) to qualify. [[2 Phed, Diff Equa., 1 Elective, and Cal III are optional]]</p>

I think you will be considered a non-traditional student, and think your application will be considered in a different way. Use the third opptional essay to explain your circumtance.
I hope you will go to the Prospective Student Center in Arlington and talk to an Admissions person to get all your questions answered and give yourself the best possible opportunity to be admitted A&M in your first choice major. They will also help you with scholarships. Please make an appointment and go.</p>
<p>I was never told I had to enroll in anything… just that take the class of whats on the list especially the BOLD-font classes and I’ll be considered TAP transfer type. But I’ll definitely talk to the Arlington Prospective Student.</p>
<p>I might be wrong about enrolling in TAP. You could also speak to an adviser at your community college about the TAP agreement at A&M.
But please do go to Arlington Prospective Student Center. If you have completed all the requirements, it is automatic admission. And please do apply Jan 1 so you have the best chance at your first choice major.

<p>FYI - I just reread your post and noticed you are looking for Spring 2013 admission. the dates for that application is August 1 - October 15. You have lots of time, but please do go to the Arlington Prospective Student Center for advice. Speak to a financial person, they will help you find scholarships.</p>

<p>Since you are applying for spring of 2013, you really don’t have to worry until the dates the above posted posted. In the meantime, you should make sure you have everything you need to be able to transfer and should got to a PSC. I’m on my phone so I cannot find the link atm (unintended pun? Lol), but I assure you the dates above are correct. </p>
<p>You might be considered secretly due to your age and your other circumstances, also like the above poster said. So I think you have a fairly good chance of making it, even with a GPA that could have been higher (if you didn’t have so many things going on).</p>
