I don’t know where else to put this. I’m currently an engineering student. I’m in my 2nd year and I’m taking calc 2, engineering statics, engineering programming, and art 101. I’m doing alright-ish in calc 2 but I might have to retake it. However, I’m doing awful in statics. I’m considering changing my major because of this class alone. The prof keeps telling the class that the future classes are much tougher and if we’re doing bad we should reconsider engineering as a career. I don’t know what to do. I originally wanted to take comp sci but decides to do engineering on a whim. To grafuate with an associates, I only need 3 more egr classes and one is supposedly really easy. What should I do? Retake the class and keep the major? Switch majors? Ahh I’m stressing
Engineering tends to be math intensive. If you are struggling with Calculus and Statics, I would strongly think about whether this is the right major. Your professor is right when he says it only gets harder. Picking engineering major on a whim is not a good idea. I am not overly familiar with computer science as a major but I have heard that it can also be math intensive.
