Engineering Master's Degree Financial Aid

Does anyone know of engineering grad schools that give good financial aid to students who are only interested in master's degree programs? Most websites only talk about aid for PhD students.

Also, anyone know of good Mechanical Engineering grad schools?

It seems to me that there is only funding for a masters degree if it is a research-based masters.

I think it’s important to decide what you actually want to learn in grad school. Choose your grad school based on your interests. Which schools have a strong program in your area of interest? Once you’ve found some schools with programs that suit your interests, you can investigate whether or not there are assistanceships or fellowships available.

I agree. Go with your interests. Don’t study for a PhD just to get your lengthy education paid for unless you really want to go into research.

From the people I know, students going for the research masters are thinking of possibly going on for a PhD, and since they are working for a university they have some funding options available to them. The professional or course-work masters students don’t really get many (any?) fellowships or assistantships.
