I want a broad understanding of engineering for my bachelor's degree. Mechanical seems like it is the most broad but I don't want to end up designing car parts. I'm interested in energy and stuff, so chemical seems like it would be a better choice. I saw a couple rooms in the ChemE building, though, and they looked kind of depressing (compared to biomed and computer science). ChemE is also the only engineering discipline at UMich that isn't ranked in the top ten in the country. I'm also considering electrical engineering. Any thoughts?
