Hey everyone,
I want to major in Architecture, Architectural/Structural Engineering, or Civil Engineering. Architectural/Structural Engineering is my top choice.
I was wondering what schools I should apply to.
I have:
Cal Poly SLO (top choice; doing early decision)
San Diego State University
CSU Long Beach

UC Berkeley
UC San Diego

U of Colorado-Boulder
U of Washington
U of Oregon

Just kind of a list of schools that interested me. Any more suggestions? Any suggestions on how many colleges to apply to?

Also, my stats are:
ACT 29
SAT 1900
GPA 4.0
Just so you don't suggest some college that is a complete pipe dream like Stanford or something.

Thanks for the help

Those are all in western states except Colorado, are you interested in other areas of the country?
What is your unweighted GPA?

Have you check the net price calculators / financial aid estimators to make sure that the colleges are affordable?

I live in Northern California so I want to stick somewhat close to home but I’m open to East Coast Colleges and other parts of the country.
high 3.6 low 3.7 I think

Ya. On most colleges I have checked the price. Obviously that will be a big deciding factor. I’m just trying to get a big list and then narrow it down from there by looking at cost, location, etc.

Cal Poly SLO is the bargain if you get in.

Some places like Virginia Tech, Minnesota, Iowa State, and North Carolina State have out of state list prices that are not that high.

Oregon does not have engineering but does have architecture. Oregon State does not have architecture but does have engineering.

Alright.
Thank you both very much

If you are trying to build a big list to start with then use a college search tool. The one on CC or College Navigator [College Navigator - National Center for Education Statistics](College Navigator - National Center for Education Statistics)
Architectural engineering and structural engineering are not very common majors - so if you search on those the list is not very long for you to deal with. Architecture is offered in more places, but still not a lot, and I’m not seeing a lot of place that have architecture AND the engineering options except Drexel and Lehigh. Also engineering schools may not have a specific major for arch.engineering or structural but offer them as grad. schools options and may have big enough CE departments that you get some exposure as an undergrad. Also, at engineering schools you may get a boost in admissions and/or merit aid because you are female. Examples: RPI, WPI (that added an arch.engineering major recently so it may not show up searches).

Alright. Thank you very much. The College Navigator is really helpful
