Engineering or CS transfer

<p>I'm currently an Econ freshmen at CArnegie Mellon. At the end of this semester i should have either a 3.4 to a 3.6. Anyway, I'm not enthralled with my major and am playing to change. Met with the dean and he said since I'm doing an internal transfer, it's not guaranteed. Any schools that you would recommend. Would going to an ivy league for engineering be possible since most of them don't have the best programs.</p>

<p>I would kill to go to Harvard or Columbia or UPenn. Applied to two of them withe con intentions and got rejected). Any suggestions for programs? I can probably get a letter of rec from the econ department head and math head here.</p>

<p>SAT: 2170 (M 800 Cr 680 W 690)
SAT2: (math 2: 780 U.S.: 750)
High School GPA: 93.5 (was a 95, but senioritis) and 13 AP's.
Lots of Clubs Presidencies in EC"S and awards
Work</p>

<p>At college:
Currently in the MMA club
Thinking of adding on debate and winning some awards
somewhat involved in robotics</p>

<p>With a 3.6 at Carnegie Mellon, you will be rejected or waitlisted by every school in the Ivy League. Sure, they may have lower-ranked engineering programs, but they are also the hardest schools in the United States to get into.</p>
